  7. This package contains the executable and support files for StatusBar
  8. version 3.0, a major version upgrade.  Several new features have
  9. been added, several old features have been rewritten, and all known
  10. bugs have been fixed.

  12. Important: Versions 2.x Released Prematurely and then Scrapped
  13. Recently, I released version 2.0 which had many, many new features,
  14. but a fair share of serious bugs.  Version 2.1 then came out almost
  15. immediatly to fix the problems, but I then I received a report that
  16. some of the new features caused GPFs (General Protection Faults)
  17. under Windows 3.1.  There were no bug reports from 3.0 users.
  18. For myself, I only managed to reproduce the GPF's three or four
  19. times (total) after hours and hours of trying.
  20.     The result is that the problems in versions 2.0 and 2.1 have
  21. caused them to be scrapped. They were removed from the Libraries in
  22. Compuserve's WINADV forum as quickly as possible, but not before
  23. being downloaded over a hundred times apiece. If you know of a BBS
  24. that has version 2.x (or a shortlived app called Statusbar Xtra),
  25. please ask the sysop to delete them at once.  I'll be eternally
  26. grateful.
